Anyone a faithful gratitude journal regular? Pro tips?
Does your team have unique ways to thank or recognize people? Feel free to share any ideas you have found valuable.
I've written in my journal nearly every day for the past 40 years (because President Kimball said I should). It has been a wonderful place to note my activities and reflect on the wonderful life I've been blessed to live. Gratitude matters! This is a great presentation!
And Kristina IS awesome!
You are an inspiration Stephen! haha - why thank you! : ) I'll accept that gratitude! ; )
I would love to review and share this recording with others. How do we find it?
I will do a shout out on Linked In to my colleagues and former colleagues, or individuals I serve
@Eric when available you can find it here: https://byums.byu.edu/webinars/
Great question Eric, the recording will be available once completed via this link. (It may take some time to upload/publish) but let me know if you have any trouble.
I no longer keep a journal... and considering burning my journals from Junior High. I honestly laugh at my pretween self... no one needs to read about that :D
haha the struggle is real! :) I used a small gratitude journal pretty regularly and only allowed myself one page a day, but at least one small page. By limiting the size, it made it feel more manageable to do something, and limiting it to one page, I felt less pressure to account for more life events. I also chose a beautiful leather bound notebook to make it a more special moment.
True- I do have a notebook in my glove box. Since I live in my car, I've used it to jot down my personal thoughts when I have a quiet moment at church, at lunch, or just before I go into my home.
Love that study on how positive teachers makes students do better! I remember my fun and positive stats professor at BYU and a serious and somewhat pessimistic teacher for history.....i Aced stats and am usually horrible at math/computation. Great example!
Amazing to see that show up in course performance
@jcummings - I may have had that same History professor
I think they taught some of my classes too... haha
Great insight that service with a need/desire for a reward is not kindness.

A huge thank you from all of us! Thanks for making this possible even in today's circumstances!
Yes, thanks Kim - and thanks also to you, Robert, and Kristina for hosting!
thank you guys so much! this is great to help maintain our center and refocus on the vital not just the important
Thank you Kim, great reminder on how positive attitudes can make such a huge difference!
This is incredible. Lines up with what I've been learning from neuroleadership studies
Has anyone studied whether different countries are more positive than others?
Really inspiring presentation. Question: What can you say about how to balance these leadership practices with the accountability side? Does an underperforming business still need to identify and address what they are doing wrong to improve? Or do they put all emphasis on what doing right? What is the mix?
Kim, I own a franchise business. Every franchisee hates the franchisor. They are the enemy. How do we take this positive leadership approach to work cohesively with our franchisees? A happy franchisee is a successful franchisor, right?
You listed a few practices through the presentation… what would be one positive personal practice and one positive business practice that you recommend starting today for the greatest impact?
Thanks Kim, is the book already available for selling? I wanted to buy.
This was excellent Kim. Do you have any resources (short videos, charts of studies, etc) that I could use in discussions with my children or Young Men to help with discussions around positivity, gratitude, etc?
Thank you! Great information and inspiring approach to leadership.
Thank you very much! This was great! Thank you Dr. Cameron for sharing this with us. I graduated from U of M with my MBA in 2002. Go Blue!
Thank you much for this great presentation!
What is the largest barrier to companies embracing POS as a core value to performance … e.g. integrated into personal development or performance reviews. Is it simply the perception of being "too syrupie".
is this recorded and will it be available to see again?
Yes, this will be available on the event page once uploaded/published : )
Yes, and the recording will be available on the byums.byu.edu site
I am grateful that I attended this webinar! Thank you, Kim!
